COLORADO SPRINGS — A 16-year-old Air Academy student died after exiting a moving car on northbound Interstate 25, near the North Academy exit ramp, around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, the Colorado State Patrol said.
Nanette Anderson, a spokesperson with District 20 confirmed that Brooke Olson died Thursday after the incident. Olson was a sophomore at Air Academy.
State Trooper Josh Lewis said that Olson was taken to Memorial Hospital Center with head trauma and died a short time after the incident. Olson was a passenger in the car when she left the vehicle, Lewis said. The vehicle was driven by a 43-year-old female.
According to Lewis, the State Patrol did not believe that foul play was involved in Olson’s death.
