Murphy also touched on LCD Soundsystem’s phenomenal success throughout the past decade, saying the band became “accidentally current.”

“That was a blessing that happened that had very little to do with me having my finger on the pulse. I was listening to music from the ‘60s and ‘70s,” he said.

With LCD Soundsystem behind him, Murphy has been dabbling in other projects, including and producing the Arcade Fire’s “Reflektor.” Murphy also confirmed the DVD release of LCD’s last ever concert at Madison Square Garden in 2011 to drop sometime this year.
