Fort Morgan police are investigating several instances of vandalism overnight that targeted vehicles in the city’s East African refugee community as possible hate crimes.
Police said someone shot out the windows of about five cars with a BB gun early Sunday.
Windows were shot out on all of the vehicles, and the sides of the vehicles were also damaged by the BB shots, police said.
The locations are known as Somali East African refugee housing areas, and all of the vehicles damaged are owned by members of the immigrant community, the city said in a statement.
