1. Microsoft warns of attackers targeting Word users
Microsoft warning that attackers are hacking through a security hole in Microsoft Word 2010 and Microsoft Outlook. If a user opens a rich text format (RTF) file, or previews a RTF email in Outlook, the attacker uses the vulnerability to “gain the same user rights as the current user.”

Shazam, the popular music identification app, can now listen to your vinyl albums. In a partnership with Juno, a store for electronic dance music, 4 million downloadable songs and new vinyl releases will be added to the Shazam database.

5. Fitbit software will come automatically on the HTC One
Rather than shop around for fitness trackers in the Google Play Store, Android users will now have apps automatically installed on their phones. Users then have the option to use the software as a standalone on the phone or buy an additional Fitbit tracker.
