A pregnant woman from Peyton didn’t make it to the hospital in time.

The father had to pull over on Highway 83 near Jones Road at about 6:30 Tuesday morning after the woman went into labor, Dave Woodrick with Franktown Fire Protection District confirmed.

Emergency dispatchers were able to track the location of the father’s cell phone and made it to the couple about 12 minutes later.

Crews helped deliver the baby on the side of the highway, Woodrick said.
