See baby critters
Baby Animal Days are April 7-20 at the Centennial Village in Greeley. Visitors can see kittens, horses, pigs, sheep, rabbits, ponies, ducklings and chicks at the village. Pony rides are available on the weekends. Admission is $2.
Snowmass snow fun
Snowmass Mountain hosts the seventh annual Schneetag on April 20. Teams of four perform skits, pilot down Spider Sabich slope, and float across a 30 x 20 foot pond in an handbuilt craft for prizes. Free.
Fat Tire Festival
The Fruita Fat Tire Festival is April 24-26 in downtown Fruita, with a bike expo, a beer garden, mountain and desert rides, live music, demos and giveaways.
West Slope tastings
The 2014 Barrel Into Spring Wine Tasting is April 26-27 and May 17-18 in Grand Junction and Palisade. Both weekends include gourmet meals, winery and vineyard tours, and barrel tastings. Tickets begin at $70 per person.
