
Theft leads to job loss. An employee of SuperTarget, 5071 Kipling St., Wheat Ridge, was caught on camera March 26 placing an Android TracFone in his pocket and walking out of the store. He was cited for theft and fired.
Trip to King Soopers ruined. A woman reported to Arvada police March 25 that she had stopped at King Soopers, 12350 W. 64th Ave., for 40 minutes to run errands. After shopping, she noticed key scratches on two sections of her vehicle. No suspects were identified.
Driver flees after hit and run. On March 22 police responded to a hit-and-run accident at 7-Eleven, 8002 Chase Drive, Arvada. The victim reported that a dark-colored SUV with a female driver collided with her vehicle before driving off. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses did not show the driver or the vehicle.
Hobo campfire extinguished. On March 22, Arvada police were called to the area of 5800 Lamar St. after a jogger reported the smell of smoke on a pedestrian walkway underneath the road. Officers made contact with four men standing around a campfire who described themselves as “hobos” traveling to Georgia. Police ordered the men to put out the fire.
Woman punched in the street. A motorist called police on March 20 after observing a male punch a female in the area of West 52nd Avenue and Independence Street in Arvada. Officers arrested and charged a male suspect with third-degree assault after finding bruises on his girlfriend’s face.
