Remember ‘s best known ESPN moment? It was last June when the rapper/”Degrassi” actor room after the team won game seven of the NBA Finals. He threw a fit, pretended to be media, but was still turned down.
Now Drake will get a second chance to become sports royalty, as he’s been chosen to host the 2014 ESPYs. He follows the likes of odd choices such as John Hamm, Justin Timberlake, Matthew Perry and Samuel L. Jackson. , we’d be more comfortable seeing Lil’ Wayne, Jay-Z or Jimmy Fallon up there (at least he was in that awful “Fever Pitch” movie).
If we’re lucky, Drake will bring a soft, emotional core to this year’s ESPY Awards. But at the very least, the ESPYs raise more than $1 million annually to the cancer research entity, “The V Foundation,” which was founded by late basketball coach Jim Valvano.
