June 21-25: “5 Days — 50 States — 550 Runners” is the theme of the annual relay inviting individuals and teams to participate in all 50 states simultaneously. Hippity-Hop Easter Trot & Kid’s Cottontail Fun Run
April 19: Includes a 5K run/walk, 10K and Kid’s Fun Run to benefit the Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST). 7:30 a.m. registration and packet pick-up, 8 a.m. Easter Egg and Scavenger Hunt, 8:40 a.m. Kid’s Fun Run, 9 a.m. 5K and 10K start, 9:45 a.m. 5K awards, 10:15 a.m. 10K awards. April 20: “Colorado’s Easter Day 5K” offers a new course this year. Start time is 8 a.m. Strollers welcome. Post-race festivities include music, awards (hams will be presented to top finishers and best costumes) and refreshments. Fees vary.
Once Upon a Race
April 19: Fairy tale costumes are required for this “modern race” inviting teams of 2-6 members to follow a course through downtown Denver. Based on the television show “Once Upon a Time” and Disney fairy tales, participants will solve clues guiding them to check points with various challenges. Check-in starts at 9 a.m. at XBar, 629 E. Colfax Ave., followed by the race at 11 a.m. A post-race ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m. at XBar with prizes awarded to the top three finishers and best costumes. Must be 21 and over to participate.

April 26: The celebrity trainer, author and host of the television series “Extreme Weight Loss” will present a talk at 4 p.m. Reservations are required for the free program. The Tattered Cover Book Store will be selling Powell’s books and Powell will sign copies from 3 to 3:45. A VIP reception with appetizers and cocktails with Powell begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $30.
