Interview with Diana Ferguson, owner
How did you get involved in this business?
My husband and I are a long-time clients of massage and have reaped great benefit from the therapeutic factors. I believe deeply in preventative medicine and feel that it is important to provide quality, alternative options to the community. Both my husband and I have been regular clients of the Green Leaf Massage Center in Arvada since its inception, and have high regard for the quality and ethics of the organization. We are very pleased to be able to open the Lakewood branch.
What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
Green Leaf Massage Center is not your typical spa. While we work diligently to provide a relaxing and enjoyable environment, our focus is only on therapeutic massage. Our mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit, one person and one massage at a time. Because we are a truly therapeutic center, we customize each massage to help our clients meet their individual goals for that session. We want our clients to feel a sense of belonging and our center to be a haven, a break from the worries outside, where they can come to relax, rejuvenate and heal. We have specials that our clients can take advantage of, but we never require membership contracts. All of our therapists are licensed professionals with a gift for providing a quality massage.
What do you like best about your line of work?
Being able to contribute to the health and well-being of others. It is such a great feeling to hear from our clients how the massage has helped them, whether it is for pain relief, helping to manage their blood pressure or preparing for/or healing after an athletic event. Knowing that we have helped to improve their lives is very rewarding.
What is your business’ biggest challenge?
At this point, getting the word out that we are here in Lakewood. We have only been open since mid-February, and people are just beginning to realize we are here.

As a part of the Lakewood community, we strive to be active and supportive. We look forward to partnering with schools and nonprofits in their fundraising efforts.
