‘ live band just keeps getting bigger. After a unique tour last year that had the Denver producer performing with a live band, Pretty Lights has announced he will return to for two nights with 13 members of the Colorado Symphony.
“New life will be brought into the new music I’ve been working on and my older work via remixing, via the live band, and via the sounds of live symphonic composition in the most acoustically beautiful venue anywhere,” Pretty Lights’ Derek Vincent Smith The two-night run with CSO takes place on Aug. 8 and 9.
Tickets for the Pretty Lights and CSO show go on sale at 10 a.m. on April 25. Prices have not yet been announced.
CSO is amping up its collaboration with contemporary artists this year — a schedule that also includes Bela Fleck at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Amos Lee at Red Rocks.
This Pretty Lights show certainly marks CSO’s most contemporary collaboration yet. It also prompts an interesting question: What will this crowd look like?
