
The town of Morrison has been a congenial neighbor to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, but a popular style of music is threatening to spoil the relationship.
Electronic dance music, or EDM, with its bone-rattling bass lines, is driving citizens of the town crazy and their complaints aren’t falling on deaf ears.

Denver’s new rules say the average decibels for an entire show shall not exceed 105 decibels for one-minute averages after midnight on a weekday or after 1 a.m. on a weekend. That sound limit is roughly the equivalent of a snowmobile. Artists could face fines.

No one should feel oppressed in their home by wall-shaking music from their neighbor — even if the neighbor is a concert venue.
