Rocking a ten gallon hat, and his all-star Atomic Band previewed material from “Atomic Bomb! The Music of William Onyeabor” on the “Tonight Show” on Tuesday.
The Atomic Band was explosive on Tuesday, playing Onyeabor’s “Fantastic Man”. The band consists of ex-Beastie Boys associate Money Mark, LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney and Yeasayer/Of Montreal/Caribou collaborator Sinkane. Tuesday’s performance brought music taken from documentary celebrating the work and life of reclusive Nigerian musician, William Onyeabor.
