Bellco Colfax 5K/ Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon
May 17-18: The 9 a.m. May 17 Bellco Colfax 5K is a kick-off for the ninth annual Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon (May 18, details on the website) and includes two starts, one for runners and one for families, dogs and wheels. Post-race festivities include live music, a photo booth, awards and entertainment. $37, $20 children 12 and under and seniors 65+, $20 for athletes with disabilities. High Line Canal Run
May 10:The 33rd annual run in deKoevend Park includes a 10K at 8 a.m. and 5K run/walk at 9 a.m. Children and dogs welcome. May 10: Littleton’s 17th annual 5K/10K Run/Walk honoring police, fire and EMS. A Kids Run and Volleyball Tournament is also included along with several family-friendly activities. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Events continue until 3 p.m.
Arthritis Foundation Walk
May 18: The 2014 Walk to Cure Arthritis is a benefit to raise awareness and funds to prevent, control and cure arthritis that affects 52 million adults and 300,000 children. A 5K, three-mile and one-mile course is included. This year’s National Youth Honoree is 12-year-old Claire Brennan who was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age 2. Dogs are welcome. Post-walk festivities include a Kids Zone, entertainment, refreshments, prizes and awards.
Bicycles for Humanity
May 17: Greenwood Athletic and Tennis Club is collecting donations of slightly-used bikes to be shipped to Namibia, Africa for residents, aid workers and educators. Bikes may be dropped off 8 a.m. to noon.
Camp Magic Mud Run

550 Marathon Relay
June 21-25: “5 Days — 50 States — 550 Runners” is the theme of the annual relay inviting individuals and teams to participate in all 50 states simultaneously. Fire Hydrant 5, 5K Walk/Run and Pet Expo
May 31: “On your bark, get set, go!” for the 24th annual benefit for the Larimer Humane Society to help homeless pets. 7:30 a.m. registration, 8:30 a.m. walk/run. A Kids Fun Run with eight events is also included, kids can signup at . Hard As Nails Obstacle Mud Race
May 10: Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides presents this 5K that includes 15 different obstacles,including a Vertical Challenge that involves climbing 14 flights of stairs at The Westin Westminster, a Wrenching River Crawl in Westminster City Park, a Mud Mixer that requires participants to crawl on their bellies through a 25 foot mud obstacle and more. A Youth 1K Course for ages 4-14 with six “fun-filled” obstacles is also included. Proceeds benefit Growing Home, a local anti-poverty organization. 7 a.m. check-in and registration at The Westin Westminster (10600 Westminster Blvd. in Westminster), 9:45 a.m. race begins. Insane Inflatable 5K
May 31: The national race tour of 16 cities across the United States is coming to Dick’s Sporting Good Park. The course, open to ages 14 and older, is approximately three miles and features 12 obstacles ranging in size and complexity. A Junior Bouncers course is set up for ages 7-13. Music, refreshments, vendors and other inflatables are included. $75 event-day registration, $49 in advance. $15 for Junior Bouncers. Mother’s Day 5K
May 11: The fifth annual family-friendly 5K celebrating moms includes a 5K run/walk, a post-race expo with brunch and a kid’s race. Childcare is offered during the race. Participants receive discounted admission to the Denver Zoo. A portion of the proceeds benefits the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to raise awareness and stop the loss of women from ovarian cancer by promoting Health, Empowerment, Research, and Awareness.

Pure Vida
May 9: Presents “PUR-A-Thlon — Mash Up,” the fifth annual fitness benefit for Brent’s Place, which offers a free place for families to stay while children receive cancer treatments. The cost to host a family at Brent’s Place is $93 per day. Pure Vida is hosting special fitness classes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. A VIP Pass for two classes is $93, single classes are $25 each.
