Wheat Ridge police are investigating the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl who has been missing since April 13.
Aquaria Butterfly Cortez was last seen about 7:30 p.m. in the area of West 47th Avenue and Robb Street, said John Romero, Wheat Ridge police spokesman.
Cortez ran away from home on previous occasions, but always returned a short time later. This time, she did not, Romero said.
Cortez is described as 5-feet 3-inches tall, 130 pounds with light brown hair and brown eyes. She has scars from previous cheek piercings, police said.
It is unclear if Cortez had a cell phone when she left.
Anyone with information on Cortez’s whereabouts is asked to call 303-235-2957.
