A Widefield man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Brian Springsted, 32, was taken into custody Tuesday by El Paso County Sheriff’s Office detectives near the Fountain Valley Shops at U.S. Highway 85 and Main Street.
Springsted is a suspect in the Saturday shooting death of Daniel Baird in the 1100 block of Main Street in Security.
Michael Malory was arrested Sunday in connection with the case, according to the sheriff’s office.
Springsted is being held without bond.
