and elected one newcomer and two incumbents to the five-member Board of Directors.
Incumbents Kent Johnson and James Johnson will join Monica Duran for four-year terms.
The five mill increase means the owner of a property valued at $250,000 will pay an extra $99.48 per year in property taxes.
Total district revenue for 2014 is projected to be $3.15 million with expenditures hitting $3 million. The district has had a rough transition from a volunteer to paid department and now will be able to avoid service and personnel cuts, district spokesman Kelly Brooks said.
“We’re very appreciative of the community support,” Brooks said. “I think that’s what this shows and we couldn’t be more appreciative.”
