May 16-18. This weekend’s Colorado Symphony Orchestra program is one of the biggest and most accessible of the season. It starts off with some of the CSO’s best in-house talents taking on Beethoven’s Concerto in C major for Piano (played by music director Andrew Litton), Violin (Yumi Hwang-Williams) and Cello (Silver Ainomäe) and finishes with a big number in the form of George Gershwin’s “Suite from Porgy and Bess,” adapted by Litton for the orchestra and chorus. Gordon Hawkins, who knocked us out as in March, returns to sing Porgy. 7:30 p.m. May 16 and 17; 2:30 p.m. May 18. Boettcher Concert Hall, Denver Performing Arts Complex. $20-$83. 303-623-7876 or coloradosymphony.org
