1 Window of opportunity. A woman called police after her laptop was stolen from her car parked in front of her home in the 2700 block of West 101st Place, Federal Heights, May 5. She came out 10 minutes later and it was gone.

2 All but one. The neighbor of a man who lives in the 10300 block of Zuni Street, Thornton, called to say that someone was messing with his car May 3. When the victim went outside, he saw that three of his custom tire rims were missing.

3 Unsuccessful shoplift. Store security at Cabela’s at 14050 Lincoln St., Thornton, saw a man cut open the packaging on a rifle scope and stuff the merchandise in his pocket on May 3.

4 Parental control. Police responded to the 2300 block of West 92nd Avenue, Federal Heights, because a boy damaged a woman’s windshield. The woman was picking up her son from the suspect’s house May 2. She told her son she didn’t want him around the suspect, so the suspect punched her window. Police ticketed him.

5 Beer litter. An employee at the Thornton Community Center at 2211 Eppinger Blvd., Thornton, called police about teenagers drinking beer and throwing cans in the parking lot May 2. The group walked away when a patrol car arrived.

6 Neighbor troubles. A woman who suspected her neighbor of ripping down her cable line went outside to take pictures of the damage April 25. The woman’s neighbor came outside his residence in the 2300 block of West 92nd Avenue, Federal Heights, and started taking pictures of the woman, so she called the police.
