
1 Neighbor is slapped. Golden police went to the 1000 block of 12th Street on May 5 in reference to a fight in progress. The reporting party told officers his neighbor accused him of keying his car and then slapped him. Officers observed that the car in question had not been keyed, and the neighbor denied slapping. No charges were filed.
2 Off-road rage. Golden police responded May 5 to the AutoNation Buick GMC West car dealership at 16400 W. Colfax Ave. in reference to an angry customer. The customer became verbally abusive over the phone when the manager could not detect the problem with her new vehicle, having test-driven it over the weekend. The customer was asked not to contact the manager on his cellphone again.
3 Curious contractor. A homeowner in the 30300 block of Pine Crest Drive, Evergreen, contacted Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies May 10 about a man he hired to do remodel work in his home. The man did not return calls weeks into the job, which he contracted to three other men who said they did not get paid. He told deputies the man came to his home angry and claimed to have cancer, but when he belched, “it smelled like nothing he had ever smelled before.” He suspected the man was using meth.
4 Peace convoy. Deputies responded May 10 to the parking lot of Walmart, 952 Swede Gulch Road, Evergreen, where they found a fight in progress between members of a “peace convoy” of 15 people and six dogs traveling from Florida to the West Coast. The group was asked to leave the property.
