
The newly revamped amphitheater at Centennial City Park will host free concerts and movies this summer, in addition to a monthly farmers market.
The city spent $1.12 million this spring to add at the park at 13050 E. Peakview Ave.
The first event at the revamped venue is a free concert Saturday, June 7 featuring Eagles tribute band The Long Run, local act Katey Laurel and a youth band from the Aurora School of Rock. The festivities start at 6 p.m.
The city will host free movies at the park the second and fourth Fridays of June and July. Family entertainment starts at 7 p.m., with the feature film beginning at dusk.

One Saturday a month the park welcomes a Farmers and Artisans Market. The new event “will feature a variety of local artisans, fresh produce, ready-to-eat food and live music,” the city said in a news release.

• July 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; music by Black & Blues Guys and Kenny Lee Young
• Aug. 9, 6-10 p.m.; laser light show
The city wraps up its free summer event series Aug. 9 with a 6 p.m. show featuring music from Journey tribute band DSB and local act Rachel and the Kings. The event ends with a laser light show.
