1 Leave the guinea pig out of it. A guinea pig breeder in the 6000 block of Balsam Street, Arvada, notified police June 3 that one of her prized animals was missing from a backyard cage. That morning, she heard a car in front of her house slam its door and speed off. She found her guinea pig alive in a plastic bag with its hair shaved off. The woman said she exhibits guinea pigs in pet shows and the people who participate can be “odd,” but she couldn’t think of anyone with a grudge against her.

2 Driver escapes in stolen car. The driver of a stolen Honda Accord evaded police in the area of 60th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard on May 31 by driving the wrong way down a busy street and running a red light.

3 Suspicious incident. A man in the 6400 block of Kline Street reported June 1 that someone broke two fence pickets in his backyard.

4 Who steals a flag? On June 1, a homeowner reported leaving his home in the 11800 block of West 74th Avenue
and returning five hours later to discover a Colorado state flag missing from a pole above his garage.

5 Dreadlocked man causes mischief. Police contacted a man June 3 with an unbuttoned shirt and long matted dreadlocks who was walking slowly and looking in car windows in the parking lot of Big Lots at 81st Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. He also poured beer on the head of a passerby. Police patted him down and cleared him.

6 Stolen scooter. Police took a report of a stolen 2002 Honda Metro 50cc scooter on June 2 in the 12100 block of West 58th Place.
