The City of Golden has been awarded a grant from great Outdoors Colorado to build trail connections for its .

The $210,386 grant is part of Great Outdoors Colorado’s Path to Parks program to make parks more accessible to pedestrians and bicyclists, according to a City of Golden release. Part of the trail will also serve as a part of the to create a multi-purpose trail from Wyoming to New Mexico, along the Front Range of Colorado

The ¾-mile trail connection will begin just west of Highway 58 at the Clear Creek Trail trailhead, go northeast passed the , and end at Salvia Street, which leads to Tony Grampsas Memorial Sports Complex. The 10-foot-wide paved path will be independent of traffic lanes and will also serve as a connection to Fairmount Trail, which begins at Tony Grampsas Park and connects to some North Table Mountain Park trailheads.

Construction on the trail is scheduled to begin by late summer or early fall.
