Two buildings collapse in india; 19 die
NEW DELHI — Rescuers using gas cutters and shovels were searching in construction rubble Sunday for more than a dozen workers feared trapped in the second of two building collapses in India that together have killed at least 19 people.
A four-story 50-year-old apartment building toppled in a poor area. The collapse killed at least 11 people, and one survivor was being treated in a hospital, said fire service officer Praveer Haldiar.
Hours later, a 12-story building under construction collapsed on the outskirts of Chennai, the capital of southern Tamil Nadu state, as heavy rains pounded the area.
Argentine vice president charged•BUENOS AIRES, argentina — Argentina’s Vice President Amado Boudou has been charged with bribery and conducting business incompatible with public office, adding to the woes of President Cristina Fernandez.
Boudou is accused of using shell companies and secret middlemen to gain control of a company that was given contracts to print the Argentine peso, as well as material for Fernandez’s election campaign.
Boudou is the first sitting Argentine vice president to face such charges. He could be sentenced to between one and six years in prison.

6 killed in Egypt violence •CAIRO — Militants in Egypt’s northern Sinai shot and killed four conscripts returning from holidays to their duty station Saturday, hours after two homemade bombs killed a teenager and her mother in a construction site near Cairo, security officials said.
The officials said the militants intercepted a small passenger bus near the northern Sinai town of Rafah and asked its passengers to get out before identifying the four conscripts and shooting them.
Yemen troops foil attack on hospital•SANA, yemen — Yemeni troops foiled a militant attack on a military-affiliated hospital Saturday in the country’s south, setting off clashes that killed four militants and two soldiers, the defense ministry said.
The ministry statement said the attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday on the hospital in Hadramawt province, setting off a battle that lasted for an hour. There were no reports of damage or injuries among civilians or to the hospital.
