Interview with Karen Montoya, owner/paramedical esthetician
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: After facing some challenges with my own skin, I wanted to be able to provide a solution for a nontoxic, holistic approach to beautiful, healthy skin. I have always had a passion for helping people. The more informed we are, the more we are able to make better choices.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: I take a holistic approach to skin care. I believe that wellness starts within. It is important to take a look at all aspects of your life, eliminate as much toxins as you can by using products that are either organic or natural to your body. I mainly work with two skin care lines, one that is an herbal, organic line and one that is natural to your body made locally in Colorado. Both skin care lines provide vital nutrients to your skin and will bring the skin back to its natural healthy state. I partner with a massage therapist as well as a chiropractor to provide a overall wellness experience.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I love the fact that I have the pleasure of working one on one with my clients to help them achieve their individual skin care and wellness goals. I view my business as a honor and feel very blessed to be able to get to know my clients.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: My biggest challenge is to help people understand the benefits of nontoxic products to the skin and their overall well being.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: I am a reiki master and in addition to holistic skin care, reiki and meditation sessions are also provided to help improve your overall well-being.
