The National Weather Service in Boulder has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for several counties surrounding Denver.
Warnings are in effect for south-central Boulder, northeast Gilpin, and northwest Jefferson counties through 6:15 p.m., the service said.
The Golden Fire department said it was responding to a lighting-caused wildland fire in Centennial Cone West about 5:45 p.m.
