Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: After years of traveling for business and pleasure, we realized our best times were at pensions in Germany and bed and breakfasts in the United States. This is why Elk Run is styled and priced as a German pension — affordable, practical and clean, with exceptional breakfast fare.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Elk Run Bed and Breakfast is the only B&B in the Mount Evans Elk Management Area. As such, we offer exceptional wildlife viewing. With just two guest rooms, our guests enjoy very personal service from the innkeeper/owners. We also offer ADA-friendly accommodations.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: We love serving travelers. We create a comfortable, relaxing setting and provide superb breakfast entrees. Planning, preparation and even cleanup take on new meaning when we’re meeting new friends almost every day.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: We’re very new, so we probably haven’t seen our “biggest” challenge yet. We haven’t had any unpleasant, unsatisfied or unruly guests. We’ve only had delightful travelers who leave. Travelers arrive, friends depart.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Elk Run is 420 friendly. We welcome guests to enjoy all their freedoms under Colorado law. A smoke-free facility, Elk Run guests vaporize their product indoors or smoke outside in creekside or hillside seating areas.
