A fire broke out at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Friday morning, the Colorado Springs Fire Department said, but there was no danger to any of the animals.
The fire started after 7 a.m. this morning, Colorado Springs Fire Department Capt. Steve Oswald said, and took place in the basement of the Zoo’s gift shop. The fire was under control in less than 15 minutes once fire fighters arrived on scene, Oswald said. He said there were no reported injuries to employees or animals, at this time.
