Two people were shot and a possible suspect was detained but then released Thursday morning in Aurora.

The Aurora Police Department said the two shooting victims are expected to survive, according to .

The shooting happened near East 1st Avenue and Havana Street, Aurora police said in a tweet around 2 a.m.

Police said the victims were outside when they were shot, but it was still unclear what led to the shooting. Investigators were on scene Thursday morning interviewing witnesses.
