Former Douglas County Sheriff David Weaver was appointed to fill the vacated county commissioners seat.
Weaver is also running for county commissioner in the November election and is the Republican Party’s candidate for the District 1 seat following the June primary.
Weaver takes the place of former Douglas County Commissioner Jack Hilbert, who stepped down earlier this month.
