Re: “Itap time to play offense to protect women’s rights,” July 21 Lisa Wirthman column.

Lisa Wirthman starts off her column by asserting there’s a “war on women” and women are losing it. Later in this same column she states that women “control some 75 percent of household purchases, and hold the majority of college degrees.” It seems to me that if there actually was a war on women (there isn’t — itap simply a much-repeated lie intended to generate ill-informed emotional support for dubious causes), women are hardly losing it. While we might still have room for improvement in the area of women’s rights, the misandristic pontificating and spin-meistering exhibited in Wirthman’s article are not the way to achieve it.
