Every NBA rookie has to go through it. Not ever reporter joins in and gives us a full play-by-play. Sarah Lyall of The New York Times is one of those few.

Lyall joined the NBA’s newest additions at the league’s Rookie Transition Program and, fortunately for us, she provided many of what she and the players learned.
