1 Jaded ex or random vehicle? Arvada police were dispatched to the 6800 block of Gray Drive on Aug. 5 after a resident noticed a suspicious vehicle across her street with two people sitting in it. The caller said someone recently unhooked the bungee cords on her boyfriend’s boat tarp and disconnected the distributor cap. She suspected his ex-girlfriend of being the culprit and said a female was in the driver’s seat. Police could not locate the suspicious vehicle.
2 Items nabbed from garage. After learning some of her neighbors had property stolen from them, a woman in the 11500 block of West 70th Place, Arvada, filed a theft report Aug. 3. A drill and her daughter’s longboard were missing from her garage. There were no signs of forced entry, and the woman told police her garage door often times won’t close all the way. Total value of the missing property was estimated at $610.
3 Thief steals wire butterfly. A homeowner in the 6500 block of Marshall Street, Arvada, filed a theft report July 31 after noticing decorative solar lights and a painted wire butterfly valued at $30 was missing from her flower box.
4 Contractor robbed. A painting contractor briefly left a $700 compressor on the sidewalk in the 8600 block of Alta Vista Drive, Arvada, on July 31. He returned a few minutes later to find it had been stolen.
5 Machete-carrying driver. A driver contacted during a traffic stop at West 80th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard on July 17 appeared nervous and uptight. A machete was seen on the dashboard of the car. The man was on probation, but was released.
