Vintage flights and rides
Steamboat Springs’ 10th annual Wild West Air Fest and Labor Day celebration is Aug. 29-Sept. 1. Fly in a vintage aircraft, check out classic cars or catch the Aerobatic Air Show (from the ground) and much more. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, free for kids 5 and under.
Classic cars
The Early Iron Car Show is Aug. 29-31 in Alamosa. More than 500 vehicles will line Main Street in downtown Alamosa for one of the largest vintage car shows in Colorado.
Salsa and mountain race
Creede’s Salsa Fiesta and Mountain Run Weekend is Aug. 30-31. Celebrating the end of summer, the event offers a 2-, 12- or 22-mile race, along with salsa tasting, live music, a gravity derby and hot-air balloon launches. Ticket prices vary per event.
Hot-air balloons
The Colorado Balloon Classic in Colorado Springs is Aug. 30-Sept. 1. This free festival has dozens of balloon launches each morning, balloon glows in the evenings and live entertainment in between.
