In this March 19, 2007, file photo, then-WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley celebrates after defeating Chris Masters during a match at WWE Monday Night Raw in Indianapolis. Lashley is no Brock Lesnar. But the TNA Wrestling heavyweight champion hopes his shift to Bellator can give a boost to both second-tier promotions. Bobby Lashley had an impressive debut at Bellator 123 on Friday.

The Aurora-based former professional wrestler dominated Josh Burns in their mixed martial arts bout, winning with a rear-naked choke 3:54 into the second round.

Lashley’s claim to fame comes from his professional wrestling career, where the heavyweight became a star in the WWE and TNA.

An accomplished amateur wrestler, he has fought in a variety of MMA promotions before signing with Bellator in July. With the win, Lashley, 38, improves his record to 11-2. Burns falls to 8-8.

Don’t have any footage or photos of his fight on Friday yet, so here’s his debut in the WWE in 2005.
