Are high school sports necessary? They are necessary because there are more negative influences than ever, such as with the legalization of marijuana, which I’m against. I just hate to see my friends go the venue of drugs and alcohol. So I do believe sports at the high school level provide healthy outlets for students to express themselves and make friends and be in a positive atmosphere, which is rare in today’s society.
