Quarterback Peyton Manning had a new comrade to talk about Sunday night after he led the Broncos to .

The talk of the NFL last year was the receiving group that Manning threw to en route to the Super Bowl.

In the off-season, but , and his debut indicated he’ll fit right in. Sanders had six catches for 77 yards.

“I think he’s fitting in pretty well,” Manning said. “It’s not easy changing teams, changing offenses. He’s gotten better each week. My confidence is high in him, started out the game going right to him, then had the long one to him where we almost got a touchdown. So I thought it was a good start for him in his first game as a Bronco.”

The Broncos dominated the first half, taking a 24-0 lead, before the Colts stormed back.

“Opening night in my history is you come out a little sluggish and guys have nerves,” Manning said. “We set the bar pretty high the way we played in the first half. It was disappointing in the second half with the three and out on our first series.”

Manning called it a good overall victory.

“Our defense made some big stops and picked us when the offense wasn’t doing so well,” Manning said. “We just weren’t sharp offensively in the second half.”
