An Arvada woman accused of trying to aid al-Qaeda is expected to enter a guilty plea to the charge Wednesday in federal court.

Shannon Conley, 19, previously pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to .

Conley faces a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Conley allegedly made plans to travel to the Middle East and provide aid to militants from the Islamic State.

FBI agents arrested Conley in April at Denver International Airport as she tried to board a plane on her way to Turkey. She was planning to go to Syria.
