Repair of flood-damaged areas of Apex Park in Jefferson County has been delayed until late November because of funding issues and required environmental reviews.
Nearly four miles of trails at the park were severely damaged during last year’s historic floods and the county hoped to have repairs made by the end of this month.
But an environmental assessment, which is necessary in order to receive funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, still needs to be completed.
The Apex Trail project will include building of abutments and placing bridges over severely washed-out treads and other restoration activity.
