Two convicts who escaped from a work-release vehicle in Denver were captured Friday in Colorado Springs, authorities say, one of whom was arrested after a four-hour standoff.

The two men jumped out of the vehicle at about 3 p.m. Thursday when it was stopped at the Colorado Correctional Industries warehouse on Oakland Street in Denver.

Manual Rodriguez, 32, a convicted forger, was arrested in Colorado Springs at 10:45 a.m., according to a news release by Adrienne Jacobson, spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections.

Adolfo Lopez, 38, was arrested later Friday.

Police in Colorado Springs learned that Lopez was staying in a home in the southeastern part of the city and obtained a warrant for his arrest Friday afternoon. Officers arrived at the home about 6:30 p.m. and Lopez was taken into custody about four hours later following a standoff that included SWAT, according to Jacobson and Lt. Dave Gilman.

Several streets in the area were closed as police worked towards removing Lopez from the home.
