Now, onto the latest news:

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton says Vikings should suspend Peterson:

“It is an awful situation. Yes, Mr. Peterson is entitled to due process and should be ‘innocent until proven guilty.’ However, he is a public figure, and his actions, as described, are a public embarrassment to the Vikings organization and the State of Minnesota. Whipping a child to the extent of visible wounds, as has been alleged, should not be tolerated in our state. Therefore, I believe the team should suspend Mr. Peterson, until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system.

“However, I will not turn my back on the Vikings and their fans, as some have suggested. The Vikings belong to Minnesota – and in Minnesota. This has been the team’s only home; and our citizens, including myself, have been its most dedicated fans.”

NFL sought investigative file on Peterson: The NFL requested a copy of the investigative file on Adrian Peterson but was denied by the Texas prosecutor handling the case. “The NFL very broadly asked us to provide what we could,” Montgomery County prosecutor Phil Grant told USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday. “We gave them a copy of the indictment which we give in response to any open records request. That’s it.”

NFLPA president stresses “due process: “I’d let the court system and process run its course. I don’t want to get into a world where we’re snapping to judgment, and that’s where we’re all the sudden saying, ‘Oh well, since he was arrested before, he’s automatically guilty of it.’ I don’t think that’s the right world to live in,” Eric Winston said in an appearance on ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike.”

Peterson was at practice Tuesday:
