A liberal group targeting Congressman Cory Gardner is up with a new ad that attacks the GOP Senate candidate over women’s issues and climate change.
The 30-second ad “delves into decisions Coloradans face, and the choices Congressman Gardner wants to make for them,” a news release from NextGen Climate Colorado says.
“From the doctor’s office to Colorado’s environment, Congressman Gardner consistently puts his extreme views ahead of those of Coloradans,” said spokeswoman Abby Leeper.
NextGen Climate Colorado was founded last year by wealthy investor Tom Steyer, who’s under attack from Republicans. They are trying to “make Steyer a synonym for the worst form of big-money politics” and they have “accused him of buying Democratic support for a climate-activist, anti-Keystone agenda that could turn off battleground voters,” .
NextGen Climate Colorado earlier in Grand Junction with the incumbent, U.S. Sen. Mark Udall.
NextGen Climate opened five offices in the state and a team of 68 staffers and volunteers in an effort to help Udall, according to Fox’s Eli Stokols. Chris Lehane, NextGen’s chief strategist, said one of its strategies against Gardner is to define the two-term congressman
