Oracle Corp. plans to acquire Front Porch Digital Inc., a Lafayette-based content storage management firm with a customer base that includes the U.S. Library of Congress, BBC and NASCAR.

Financial terms of the deal, announced late Sunday, were not disclosed.

Front Porch Digital employees are expected to remain with Oracle, officials for the Redwood City, Calif., tech giant wrote in a presentation to investors that included plans to make “significant engineering investments” in Front Porch Digital’s storage management technology.

Front Porch Digital has more than 550 customers, and its cloud and on-premise storage systems manage 750 petabytes of digital media content, officials said.
