With all the acclaim Compton rapper has received since the release of his full-length project “good kid m.a.a.d city,” itap hard to believe it came out in 2012. The MC churned out the most talked about verse in the last few years of hip-hop with “Control,” and received the coveted GQ Man of the Year Award. He was the go-to feature artist for musicians ranging from Alicia Keys and Jay-Z to Flying Lotus and Imagine Dragons.

Now, word is, Kendrick Lamar is finally ready to release brand new music and there’s a solid date on the table. On Sept. 23., the new Kendrick Lamar song “I” will be released,

Rahki, who was behind beats for Eminem, Curren$y, 50 Cent and others that he produced the new Kendrick Lamar song. Rahki also provided beats on “good kid.”

A production company WatchLOUD tweeted the news last week and has now provided full confirmation that the new single will drop next week. The artwork has been unveiled and it seems like Lamar is ready to step into his higher power.
