On Sept. 20, Denver will become a city of tiny dancers as Sir takes the stage at the . The prolific musician has been bringing us classic for decades now. From Broadway to film scores to his extensive discography, there can’t possibly be a person alive who doesn’t like at least one Elton John song. In honor of his return to Denver we decided to do a round up of the most important part of Sir Elton John. No, not covers of “Candle in the Wind” his sunglasses. Here we walk you through an analysis of 10 pairs of sunglasses Elton John has worn in recent years.

Sir Elton John rocked these bad boys this last March at the 22nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party. Say that 10 times fast. We know they are actual glasses and not sunglasses, but we had to put them on here because they are so snazzy, and perhaps they’re transitions lenses … ever think of that?
9) The “I Don’t Want To Detract From My Cape”

In 2011 on the opening night of his three year residency at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for his show “The Million Dollar Piano,” Sir Elton John went for more subtle shades. These relatively plain black frames are a simpler version of his signature look and are paired with one of the most amazing capes ever seen.
8) The “Baby Blues”

At the Grammy’s last year Sir E. Hercules John wore these simple blue sunglasses that conveniently matched the background during his performance. Maybe he was matching his mood. He does look a little down. Perhaps he made a quick sunglasses change when Kendrick Lamar lost pretty much every award to Macklemore…
7) The “Sportswear Sunnies”

At the 19th Annual WTT Smash Hits, Elton wore these sporty-Lennon shades to play tennis in. Can’t sacrifice style for sweat, thatap what we always say. But we’d also imagine this particular pair of glasses has a Terminator type tracking system that allows John to crush his sad opponents.
6) The “Poppin Pink Party Pair”

For the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s 2014 Hot Pink Party, Elton John wore a pink version of his Grammy’s pick. They were festive, fun and didn’t take any attention away from his bejewleed shoulders. Top class.
5) The “Club Master Two Tone”

At one of his concerts in New York City at the end of last year EJ wore these two tone club master style shades. We want a pair for ourselves. But look at that sly grin. He knows that we’d never be able to afford, let alone purchase a pair. They’re only available via the “Order of the British Empire Catalog.” Maybe Michael Caine can help us out.
4) The “Top Notch Two Tone”

Another pair of two tone shades, but this time in pink and purple worn while on tour in Sydney in 2012. They take the sunglasses game to whole new level. One fit for someone knighted by the Queen.
3) The “Cheerful in Cherry”

At an Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 12th Annual An Enduring Vision Benefit, he wore these all red specks and we were totally on board. They’re funky and out there and everything a rocket man needs in eyewear.
2) The “Orange You Glad They Match My Shoes”

Yes, Elton. We are. We really, really are. And Tom Ford probably was too since he wore these to one of his cocktail parties. Soon after you could find them on Jay Z, Beyonce and they’re now sold in a combo pack at Target.
1) The “I’m Better Than Bono”

And Elton John most certainly is better than Bono. One, because his sunglasses game is much tighter. Two, because he didn’t force us to own any of his albums. One whole year before #10.
