During interviews with Hawaii players this week, they were asked about playing at elevation.
Of course, the Rainbow Warriors had better get accustomed to it, having joined the Mountain West Conference.
Here’s what running back Steven Lakalaka had to say on his school’s website about playing at Colorado:
“Hydrate and pray,” he said. “There’s no weather there like it is over here. So all we have to do is push.”
Sophomore defensive end Kennedy Tulimasealii said:
“I played last year at Wyoming, and it was pretty terrible,” Tulimasealii said. “It’s nothing that I cannot bear. It takes all your might. You can’t control your breathing, at least I couldn’t control my breathing. But I can now. It’s not too bad.”
