A man was arrested in Mesa County on Wednesday after he allegedly stole an energy drink because he “just wanted to be arrested.”
Guillermo Medina-Holguin, 26, of Grand Junction, faces charges of second-degree burglary and theft, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said.
Medina-Holguin allegedly walked out of the C and F convenience store on the 400 block of 32 Road in Clifton with the Monster energy drink after being asked to leave “no less than six times by store employees,” the office said.
Deputies arrived after being called by the employees, at which point Medina-Holguin told them he wanted to be taken into custody.
Medina-Holguin is being held in lieu of $100,000 cash only bond at the Mesa County Jail, the office said.
