After reuniting in 2010 and releasing six studio albums,

The band posted the following note on Facebook today:

Guided By Voices has come to an end. With 4 years of great shows and six killer albums, it was a hell of a comeback run. The remaining shows in the next two months are unfortunately canceled. Our sincere apologies to those that have purchased tickets and made travel plans. Thanks to everyone who has supported GBV.

Since the comeback, the band has toured extensively, including multiple stops in Colorado —

Ahead of that Gothic show, about the latest lineup of Guided By Voices.

“The strengths are mainly the original characters or personalities of the so called classic line-up. The names and faces that the hard core fans can identify with,” Pollard told Reverb. “Tobin Sprout, Mitch Mitchell, Greg Demos. You come out to see a show, you’re still looking at and listening to that line-up. That chemistry. And Kevin March adds a spark to that chemistry. Nothing is lost, only gained. We’ve still got the secondary songwriter that fans adore in Tobin. We’ve done six albums since we’ve reformed. We have a lot of strong material.”

The band initially broke up in 2004.
