Getting your player ready...

has been catching heat for talking smack about other bands lately. It started with calling Black Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbach an asshole, among other things, then his  where he spent spent a portion of the interview making comments about other musicians, like the Black Keys and White Stripes drummer and wife-sister Meg White. Then, set to rag on Rolling Stone. On Wednesday night at his Boston show, White lambasted Rolling Stone again, this time throwing rock band under the bus as well.

He went on a rant about ranting, even equating his outburst to that of one of Kanye West’s many classic tirades. After suggesting that rock musicians don’t even plug their microphones in anymore, he went on to point out the Foo Fighters use an extra guitarist to cover up their mistakes.

Foo Fighters responded with the below tweet:

White’s publicist (who is also the Foo Fighters’ publicist) must be growing tired of sending out press releases explaining away his outbursts against fellow musicians. The statement sent out Thursday:

Dear dream-makers of the media….

Last night Jack White made a joke on stage!

There was a minor equipment mishap, specifically with his guitar, and in an effort to keep his audience engaged, he made a joke! It was meant to be funny and self deprecating: “hey sorry, you’re stuck with just me up here…” vs the Foo Fighters who have three guitar players on stage and regularly play stadium shows.

Jack has the upmost respect for the Foo Fighters and communicated with Grohl this morning.

So if you’ll let us, we’ll all continue with our day and we assure you: All is well in the rock n roll world.

It’s good to know everything is well in rock n roll world. We dream-makers really appreciate the heads up.
