Pilot" -- MADAM SECRETARY, a new CBS drama, stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, the shrewd, determined, newly appointed Secretary of State who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home on the CBS Television Network. CBS will broadcast a special "doubleheader" of the series premiere of MADAM SECRETARY, starring Téa Leoni, on the same night as its debut, on Sunday, Sept. 21. 8:30-9:30 PM, ET. This new CBS drama has distinct Hillary Clinton overtones. In “Madam Secretary,” premiering Sept. 21, Téa Leoni plays Elizabeth McCord, a former CIA analyst who is appointed secretary of state after the death of her predecessor. White House Chief of Staff (Željko Ivanek) seems to be her nemesis. Husband Henry (Tim Daly) helps out at home with their two kids.
